Pictures now:
Words later. A few words now: I had intended to update this post last night, but our internet wouldn’t comply. I squeezed in a few comments on some of your blogs before I threw my hands up in frustration. This morning is better, but not by much. Cross your fingers that this will post.
Presently, I’m listening to a very rowdy crowd laughing outside my windows. I sent IZ out to give the painter the news about the front door color choice. A choice, that is far, far from traditional. I’m hoping it will all work. However, I’m guessing the painter will hate it so last night looking at the paint wheel I said, “Uh, you tell him, m’kay?” From the sound of the laughter, I guessed right.
However, here’s my theory about doors (having painted many, many in my lifetime!): they’re easily repainted. If your original color doesn’t work, it’s elbow grease to fix it. So, yeah, I would like to try something different on one lousy door on a house that is so completely traditional it betrays my sense of self I have to say, it’s a bit disheartening to hear the laughter, despite knowing it was coming. It’s not like I suggested Pepto Pink for the exteriors with lime green accents. Right? I haven’t been wrong (read: flamboyant!) about the color choices YET and still. . .
Anyhow, a significant post with more words later, or at least one not related to painting.

Looking good! 🙂

Thanks! ~W
I love the color. It is exciting to have a fresh new coat of paint. We need to think about our house too, but I really don’t want to make any color decisions. I am like you.

Oof, not fun to be facing so many choices. I did find, that once we opted for a certain scheme, it was pretty easy to pick. I hope it works out! 😀 ~W
OMG! I love your house! It is so charming, and I love the traditional paint scheme you’ve chosen. Also–my Market Shopper arrived today **happy dance** can’t wait to try it out! And the amazing smell of lavender has permeated my studio! Thank you! 🙂

No! Thank you for buying it!! 😀 I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the support. And, your little city was on our short list of places to move until we saw Astoria! ~W
Oh, that looks nice. I CANNOT wait to see it in person this summer…only a month and a half!!!! Anyway, oh, yea, I tag you to do the 7 things meme…go look at my blog to see details. 🙂

Ah yes, the meme that will not die. 😀 Click click for my answers. ~WÂÂ
The house will be smashing when it is all done – and it is paint – it can be gone over if we hate it later. Seriously, I like the choice of color for the front doors and look forward to getting it up.

OMG, I completely forgot we have two doors out there. I don’t even consider that side porch real. HOLY COW, decisions, decisions. This is worse that shopping for new jeans. 😀 ~W
It looks fabulous! I was surprised when I saw yesterday when I drove up our little side street. POOF… it was painted! I’m guessing it wasn’t “poof” for you. I don’t envy you to go through it… yet I so want my house to have a new paint job too!

It’s supposed to be done tomorrow! So, we shall see. ~W
You know you’re such a tease… I’m anxious to see which color you chose. 🙂
It’s good to be daring on the front door color! Go you! 🙂

Who me? A tease? 😉 ~W
Me again. I just went digging around trying to find out where the door color was revealed…but a ha! It’s not! I’m DYING to know what you picked! And I totally agree. The front door colors should be daring. Can’t wait to see it! I wish we could move to Astoria–but we need to be near ailing parents :-(. But if I were there, I’d’ve stood right there with you. Silly painters, laughing about color. Don’t they understand how important it is?

You again! How grand! 😀 The color should be up tomorrow and since I blog my life, you know I’ll post a photo. 😀 ~W
Go wild with the doors!!

I got a sneak peak at the stairs hidden under that tarp! Love the color…but didn’t know if it is new or the old.

Um, if it’s that tangy blue, then yeah, that’s the new color. Jeff didn’t like it, and he might have been right. I didn’t want to go another shade of gray—however, I’m not sold on this blue either. At the time we were talking, it seemed like those were the two choices. In retrospect, I should have pulled out the color wheel and said, “Well, what blue will work!” Oops. We may change it out in a few weeks. Anyhow, thanks!! 😀 ~W
