Part of the following prayer is painted on a bathroom wall in JP’s in Cannon Beach. When Boy Wonder discovered them, he asked the proprietor for a copy of the “words in the bathroom.” I thought, since he liked them so much, you might too. It happens to be one of my favorite prayers–enjoy.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
-Marianne Williamson

That is beautiful…
And just what I needed to hear today, believe it or not. Thank you for sharing.
Oh! I’m glad you like it–Boy Wonder will be pleased that you “get it”. 🙂 I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to comment–I’ve been under the weather. ARG. Hope you’re having a wonderful holiday.
What I take away from this is that whether you are quietly living a monastic life or whether you are building empires – you should strive to live deliberately and give your utmost for the Highest… and in that manner of living, those around you will see and be inspired to do the same. What do you think?
