I must admit there is something therapeutic to having my desk clean. It’s been a mildly productive day today–especially considering I slept in until 11! I managed to wrangle my desk back from the depths of disorder and organize the bathroom closet! I also did one of those creative projects I had slated for the summer. I just have to buy “stuffing” for my new little desk mascot. I will post a pic. of her “pinkness” when I get her finished. (Hopefully tomorrow). Throw in a walk at 10 and I’m calling it a day.
Maybe I will go see a movie tomorrow after I find new running shoes. (These are KILLING me!) Ok… I know, not an inspired post. However, if you are looking for inspiration I would suggest walking outside and looking directly up. The stars tonight are breath-taking.

LOL… one thing I will say here… I just noticed on my blog that the banner ads. are for “Nursery Pots” and “Plant Containers”. THEY say nothing has changed since Google took over Blogger, but I beg to differ. I have a tiny little algorithm as proof! (apparently, we ARE being watched!– Bots that lurk… sheesh!)
~~and might I add, that it’s dirty tricks to wave pot in front of an addict. Sheesh, have they no shame? (heads to the nearest 12 step program for gardeners.)

Hey everybody… I apologize for the lack of content this week. I’ve been tired and frankly… falling into my own special form of funk. I am going to take a few days off from humanity (except for a brief appearance at a party I shouldn’t miss tomorrow) to sleep, read and get things in perspective. Maybe even clean my desk. Don’t worry, I just need a break. And since I’m BROKE, I’m going to pretend my bedroom is a spa and not leave until Tuesday. What can I say, I have a rich fantasy life.
See everyone Tuesday.

Wow… I’ve been running hard since last Thursday. It’s nice to finally have a day off. Last night was wonderful…It even cooled off enough to enjoy it all. We all had a great time (if a bit squeezed!) out on the deck with cake and wine–roses and candelight. The night lacked for nothing.
The CAKE!!!

Now… off to my day of rest! Coffee with a friend and then maybe a fabric store in Fairfax. Or maybe a nap!

Woohoo… the cake is done. Now I have to clean in this sauna. But at least I can relax a bit. Whew!

Whew… this heat is amazing. Somehow, I managed to get all my errands done for tomorrow–in record time too! (6 stops… 3.5 hours!) . The cake is finished as are all 40 of the chocolate rose leaves. Hopefully, I will be able to work fast enough in the heat tomorrow and get it assembled without too much difficulty. Chocolate and heat are not amiable working partners. Oh well, what can you do?
I’m tired, though. But, I’m on schedule. The only thing that didn’t get done was a trip to pick up pots and mulch–an errand that MUST get worked into tomorrow’s schedule. So much for sleeping in, eh? Ok… off to bed. (wanders off to bed wondering if it’s possible for things to actually get “done” in dreams… because I could certainly use a hair cut!)

Ok… terribly tired. I just got in from a GREAT night with Kat, but am now going to put myself into bed while it can still be called a decent hour. I promise to post tomorrow with the details. All you need to know right now is that it was a perfect night. ~~Wende
The update: Kat and I had a great time. We checked out the party… Kathryn thought this guy named Emile was a hottie. (I did not!) I think it’s just cause he kinda looks like Amir and Emile sounds like Amir… (waits for the silence…) I spent the evening quietly mocking people. I didn’t start it really… Some of Brent’s friends are caustic and well… I dished back what I was served. A bit fun, considering I’m not likely to see any of these people again until next year. There was this freaky episode where two of his friends went on and on and on about how much I resembled some poor woman named Laura who was once inhibited but now a bit of a “ho”. God help me. It’s actually pretty funny. (Wonders what was IN those brownies!) Anyhow, we had a great time. We checked out downtown Pleasanton and I gave Kat a tour of my old bookstore! Left messages in the store journal and bought a bracelet at my old discount ( you got to love Pete!)… that about sums up the evening. Well, most of it anyhow. The rest of the time we spent talking all about YOU! Wouldn’t you just love to know what we said. Heh!!

Ok… because I’m too tired to be creative, I am stealing a recent post from In Passing. If you don’t read this site regularly– What’s wrong with you?
So, here you go:
“L-o-u-i-s-i-a-n-a.”
“Where’s the ‘w’ in it, then?”
“I’m thinking you should re-think applying.”
–A woman and a man, apparently filling out a form of some sort, in line at Peet’s coffee.

~~Too tired to write tonight or hunt up interesting things on-line to post. I just had a strange experience getting out of the shower only to discover I was not alone. (the six year old was trying to wrangle out of wet clothes–the same six year old who insisted on drinking bottles of water before bed despite the warning that he would indeed find that a HUGE mistake in judgment in a few hours.) Needless to say, I managed to get dressed (in a t-shirt that says “Sleepless in Seattle”), get the kid in the shower and change out his bed (not to mention the obligatory rant along the lines of “You know, this is EXACTLY what your father was trying to tell you… Do you WANT to sleep in a wet bed? NO? Good, then who is going to pay attention and do as he is instructed tomorrow night? Hmmm???”) Apparently, I’m in charge here. And apparently, my child possesses that not so rare gene that prohibits the taking of good advice in preference for learning the hard way. Who knows, I should probably consult his nine year old girlfriend, Chloe, as to how she keeps his attention. Second thought, I might not want to know. Sheesh!
So, I’m going to bed now. I think I deserve it, don’t you?
