Me: What’s that box?
IZ: Your birthday present. The question is, when should I let you open it.
Me: Now now now!
IZ: Really? I just don’t want you to be disappointed when your birthday comes and there’s nothing else.
Me: I won’t be, I promise. Besides, I know what’s in it.
IZ: How do you know?
Me: I just do.
Me: I’ll prove it. I’ll write what I think it is on a piece of paper. On this napkin, see. And you can look at it after I open the box.
IZ: You’re jumping around like a little kid. Ok. Open the box.
IZ: How did you know?
Me: I told you, I just did. I felt it when you answered the door this morning. I knew it was home.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. . . I have no other words.
(Kat’s work is so much. . . more in person. Â But here’s a better photo of it in her store, In a Pale Place on Etsy.)
Happy Birthday my love. A little bit of beauty for my beauty. Glad you like it so much. Now where to hang it… 😀
I’m so on the fence. . . but now have this huge urge to get painting our staircase!
soooooooooooo lovely
Nice job, IZ 🙂
He has the grand gesture down pat!
I’m so glad that you have such a beautiful piece to hang; IZ is the greatest!!
He is!
I can’t wait to see your photo of the picture hung up on your fancy new wall paint! Happy birthday!
Me either, Karan. This painting has been on my radar for ages. . . and I’ll admit, greatly influenced the color scheme of the house. I know you’re not supposed to buy art to match your walls, but nothing says a piece can’t inspire your paint choices? Not that I believed the painting would really be mine. I just figured I loved the feel of that painting why not bring some of that here? So, in the long run, it really will look like I bought art to match my walls… hahahaha! Oh well. ~W
It’s amazing. Completely beautiful. Reminds me of a birthday girl I know…. 🙂
