I love lilacs. I had a beauty of a lilac growing right next to my back door and whenever the door opened, I was greeted with a waft of sweet lilac. Alas…the thing died this winter and I must now wait whatever the time it takes for a new bush to start blooming.
______________________________________________ Oh, I feel you. When we first moved here, our lilac had SOO many blooms. It was so huge it had to be pruned, I gave away armloads of lilac bouquets to neighbors. But the following year, we had an ice storm and it split the tree. So only part of it is blooming and just barely. It makes me sad. IZ and I have decided to plant more in another corner of the yard. I have no idea how long it takes for them to really get going.
Of course, you could always resort to my old method and STEAL lilacs. I really should write that story. Heh. ~W
