Thank you for all the paint suggestions. We are getting very close to making a decision (we’ve made one, but I don’t want to jinx it!) and will probably be swathing the backside of our house in color very soon. Never fear, I’ll post pictures of our test runs. Because, it’s my life and I blog it!
Speaking of thanks, I owe a few mentions of gratitude. Some of you have been very supportive readers and have actually been my first Thrifty Goodness customers. While I’m not selling anything typically wrapped in brown paper to protect anonymity, I’m loath to post links to my customers. You know who you are, and I’d just like to say “Thank you!!”
But some of you have taken my little venture to heart and have actually mentioned it:
or linked it:
Or ran an ad for it on your blog:
And I’m not so bashful about linking you—since you started it! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. It means a lot to begin something new and have such amazing support. So, whether you purchased or promoted or just supported: a big fat “Thanks” to your lovely selves. I’d kiss you, but that would muss my screen!
Speaking of Thrifty Goodness, I’ve been busy. It’s always been my intention to carry unique Vintage inspired goods along with all the fun thrifted finds. To this end, there is a plethora (ok, two at the moment, but I’m workin’, I’m workin’) of one-of-a-kind pillows just about to be stocked. Made from vintage materials and notions, I’m having so much fun creating these little wonders. The one above is fashioned from a vintage Japanese tea cloth and vintage red buttons. It has a sister pillow that I adore even more! Anyhow, these lovelies and more will be in the next store update. Which is to say, SOON!
Many, many thanks to you, dear readers. Or as my pillows might say, ã©ã†ã‚‚ã‚ã‚ŠãŒã¨ã† or Domo Arigato!
(ps, if I’ve missed your linky love, let me know!! WordPress doesn’t always catch new links in a timely manner!)
The title of your post looks like boxes to me. Is it the computer? Anyway, I love the pillows. I am not much of a decorator or craft person–but I’m glad that the venture is going well.

It will look like boxes to anyone using MSIE. If you use Firefox, Safari, or Opera, it reads in Japanese Script. 😀 ~W
I think your ability to write in Japanese is quite cool. Too bad that Internet Explorer (6/7) is not standards compliant but you can read the title if you use Opera, Firefox, Safari, etc. Anyway – the pillows are VERY COOL. I almost hope they don’t sell. 😉

Pfft… they NEED to sell. 😀 ~W
I’m so glad your store is doing well! those pillows won’t last, they are lovely!

Lovely pillows…and I am excited about seeing your paint choices!

Thank you! As for the color… despite the YELLOW inside my house, I’m guessing the exteriors will be subdued. But, anything has got to be better than this flaking white. ~W
Is that “Evidently” spelled in Japanese? Wow, sister! 🙂
I love the pillow you made, the bright red contrast on the vintage buttons really make it pop.
I can’t wait to see your house all painted up, whenever I need a reminder of how shabby our house looked on the exterior when we first bought it… I just go out the back door. We still need to paint that side! 😉

Oh thank you! I actually like these pillows a bit too much. As for the Japanese, it actually says “thank you very much”. But I have to say, I’ve been so tickled looking at it, I keep coming back to my own site the check it out. I told IZ last night–maybe all my title posts will be in Japanese from now on. Heh. ~W
I reallllly like that pillow … darn it …

Oh! And thanks again for the ad on your sidebar!! 😀 ~W
Put it up! Put it up!

Presently, at 4:24 PST, photos have been taken of both pillows. However, I handed IZ the camera so he could take a few photos of the boy at Taekwon-do today. Guess where the pictures still are! D’oh!  ~W
One cannot have enough lovely pillows.
You could lick the screen, you know.

Heh, oh my. I’d like to make it clear that it’s the MEN in this house that LICK. Not that anyone will believe me! ~W
I came over to catch up and then I licked the screen- repeatedly. WB is wonderfully tall, BTW. I’m thinking your Thrifty Goodness efforts are rich, indeed. I’m thinking about raiding the change jar and sending for Penny.
What to do, what to do? You manage to do while you’re trying to decide and write about it all eloquently. Now we just need to see what color you’ve chosen.

He is tall! And when you consider his father is 6’3″ and typically Danish (they are, evidently, prone to be longwaisted!) our child is shaping up to be a giant. I can’t keep him in jeans, he’s growing yet again. Presently, all his jeans are highwaters and I’m just trying to get to shorts season without having to reinvest in long pants until the fall.
As for me “Working”… shhhh. Someday, I will get serious about writing and actually attempt to do something with it. But you know, right now, I’m riddled with self-doubt. And now amount of “knowing” changes that. Until then, I’m pleasantly over-educated and under-employed. Which, I’ve been lead to understand, is a common condition with my generation. ~W
Love the Japanese! And those pillows! Ak! Too pretty, my cats would destroy them. 🙂 Thanks for the linky love! Your store is fabulous…oh, and I LOVED the little sachet!!!!! The fabric is too cute!
