The man couldn’t resist filching an apple from an abandoned heirloom tree out in the boondocks of Washington. I guess it’s really wrong that I found his thievery kinda sexy, right?

A little role reversal – it’s enlightening. 😉

Stolen or scrumped apples always taste so good even if they have worms in them.
Laying down loads of our neighbours windfalls ready for winter puddings.
______________________________________________ This was worm free… Yay! It’s always a risk, eh? And what kind of puddings are you making?? ~W
______________________________________________ From the looks of the well beaten path to the tree from the road and the lack of apples on lower branches, I’d say we weren’t the only ones stealing apples. 😀 ~W

did you eat it all yourself or did you share?
When I first saw the picture all I could think of was Adam and Eve! I found a recipe once for apple dumplings(I think that’s the name) and you pour mountain dew over the dumplings and bake. It really is good even though it doesn’t sound like it! I need to find that recipe.
______________________________________________ All three of us shared. Although, the boy got the lion’s share. I can’t eat too much apple without getting headaches. It’s the pectin, I think? Anyhow, it had an amazing flavor. Made me realize just how bad the apples from the market truly are!
And yeah, IZ went straight to the Adam and Eve story too… hence his comment. 😀 I’d love to try that recipe… it sounds intriguing!! ~~Wende
IZ – you bad boy! Well done! You’re all dangerous, like William Tell once he uppity and rebellious. Or Newton with his crazy ideas… Or Steve Jobs with all his tempting gizmos… 🙂
Sexy.

Mainly the apples will be used a the base for apple crumble –plums also in the freezer ready for the same pudding. Real winter warmer food especially if I make custard with it as well. I also use the apple cold with plain yogurt or ice cream or custard.
I don’t eat raw apples as I feel hungrier after than before. DH likes them cut up with his morning bowl of muesli and yogurt.

Why is it that stolen apples always taste better?
