The weather here has been absolutely lovely for the past few days—a much needed break from what has felt like a permanent winter.Â
Our little family decided to take a walk along the river tonight. Actually, Sophie thought it would be a good idea and she finally convinced us after hours of “suggesting”. Sophie is not subtle. The sun comes out and she thinks we should all go! Go now!  So, anytime anyone  comes down the stairs and past the front door she’s standing there with her tail wagging suggesting. Woof woof.Â
The dog was right! It was so beautiful. We saw a Bald Eagle and the ships going up and down the river never cease to amaze me by their immense size. They seem to dwarf our wee town.
IZ treated us to a lovely dinner at our favorite pub—which just happens to have a dog friendly deck. This was our view tonight as we ate some of the best burgers in town (definitely NOT on the diet!). And I thought you’d like to see what keeps us hanging on through the perma grey.
Do you live in Astoria, OR? I LOVE the Oregon coast line. Someday, if I muster up the energy to go somewhere where life slows to a mere trot, I believe it could be north coastal Oregon. Tried SoCal, twice, to much concrete and condos for me. Northern Minnesota works for now but the Oregon Coast is a close contender. Thanks, Matt

I do live in Astoria, Matt. Although, I don’t broadcast that too openly on the blog. I don’t know about coastal living. I love living in a slower world. It suits me. But, it’s too dang cold and grey here. I’m thinking Santa Barbara. Thanks for the comment!! ~W
So lovely! The ships going and coming are so much fun to watch. Do you ever see any seals? I am happy for your break from the rain. Enjoy. 🙂

No, we didn’t walk far enough down to their usual location. But I think they’re not in town right now. I’ve not heard them, anyhow. And we can hear them all the way up to our house in the hill when they get going! ~W
Was a really nice “staycation” – days like yesterday are infrequent so we have to make the most of them. Besides, we’ve been really good as of late (mostly) so a little bite out was fun. The sun, the setting, the company; couldn’t have been a better time…

It was such a nice outing! Thanks for dinner. I paid, oh I paid for that burger, but it was GREAT! ~W
It sounds utterly wonderful-the walk, the pub, the VIEW, the blue sky. It’s been a joy to be outside lately. I hear that’s changing…

It is changing! However, I’m just thankful for sunlight back to back! And the rain will help further my gardening plans. IZ and I have been doing some major reworking of our yard in prep for new fencing. I can’t WAIT!! 😀 ~W
How awesome to see a Bald Eagle! Blue skies are lovely indeed. I suppose they’re even better when they’re rare.

Well, blue skies never get old for me. But I’m kinda weird like that. I really could live in perma summer. And the Eagle was amazing. I wish I’d gotten a decent photo of it. ~W
Looks like a great view to enjoy a burger with. I think we should always let the dog guide us to walks outside! 🙂

She only gets that way when the sunlight is out. Otherwise she’s pretty content to not move. 😀 ~W
