A few weeks ago, Jena over at Modish put out a call for what she’s calling Handmade Faces. I didn’t expect her to use what I wrote, in fact, I told her she really didn’t have to—it was just a little mama pride going on. But, being who she is—she has! And consequently, Boy Wonder is featured over on Modish today.
You really do owe it to yourself to check out all the amazing handmade there is to be found on Modish. There is so much to see beyond my kiddo! Jena has quite the knack for spotting the best and brightest in the handmade world, not to mention having a kind heart. She’s a very bright spot in the blogosphere! While you’re there, don’t forget to show Boy Wonder some love.
And Jena, you’ve made an 11 year old’s day. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
I love the fact that he sews…and the boy is a natural in front of the camera.

He’s always been my little ham, when it came to a camera. However, around the age for 5 he discovered he liked filming even more. Now he terrorizes the dog and cat. 😀 ~W
That’s wonderful! BW is very talented, so it’s nice for him to get recognized.

He had a nice little moment… he especially liked reading everyone’s comments over on Modish. 😀 Everyone needs to be a star once in awhile. ~W
I love it- great post, including the YouTube Box video! I commented over there that I think fondly of BW every single morning when I clean the litter box. 😉 I really do enjoy this guy’s creative spirit and your encouragement.

Heh, we use ours to keep dog walking bags handy. 😀 And he is so creative! I can hardly keep up with him–most of the time I don’t feel like I’m encouraging him, but hindering him. Lord help us if we did everything he wanted to do. Of course, some of those projects involve incendiary devices and I absolutely will not tolerate that!
Oh! And your earlier post has inspired me to get moving with my new sewing machine. The fabric store is a little overwhelming for someone as shopping challenged as I am, but I can learn. I’m making felt I want to line and turn into little purses and bags.

I have to go in to a fabric store with a plan. Just wandering the aisles only overwhelms me. I’m not usually the kind of person who can look at a piece of fabric and say, “Maybe I’ll do this with it. . .” I work the other direction. This is my idea, now what will I use. 😀
He’s such a little talent!
I tried to comment on your last post, but I really have fits with your site anymore. Not sure what the problem is…
So glad you’re enjoying this incredible sunshine!

Thank you, Paula. And this sunshine was much needed!! ~W
It is cool when one can be recognized so early in life for doing such fun stuff – boy wonder certainly is amazing in my eyes – I’m glad others can see he’s such an awesome kid…

Yeah, I don’t remember ever having that kind of moment. He cracks me up, tho—lecturing me about not “breaking” his new rotary cutter. heh. ~W
Yay Georges! And so handsome too 😉

Thank you… it’s so funny. He loved the post, but he immediately noticed the title calling him, “little”… and I had to quickly say, “Well, in comparison to the people who do this sort of thing, you are ‘little'”. Poor kid. It’s so hard being 11. 😀 ~W
woohoo!!! (i love that you signed Jena’s name instead of yours, silly)

Isn’t that funny. I’m such a dork, sometimes. 😀 ~W
That Modish post made my day too! If B.W. ever wants some yarn scraps I’ve got a glad-bag full! Some are balled up and some super tangled, yet still good for cutting sniplets from. All sorts of colors.

Oh! You are so kind. He makes a habit of NEVER turning down free craft supplies. You rock. 😀 ~W
Congrats, Boy Wonder!!
Wende, that top is so cute! I want one! (Sewing Tip #82:If you sew a flat panel below the neckline with a series of pleats below it, it makes your boobs look big!) Depending on whether you want help in that dept. or not. I, personally need all the help I can get.
😉
BTW, there’s something special for you over on my blog today. 🙂

I will keep that in mind! And I’ve reciprocated in my own way. THANK YOU… very, very lovely words. ~W
I tried posting a comment over at Modish when I saw their fabulous post, but I don’t think it stuck. I love the feature, and your comments below it are the sweetest ever!

Your comment did post, thank you! In fact, you’re the designer BW noticed. We had a nice little exchange about your work–checked out your etsy site and I said, “You know the earrings I was wearing yesterday? Susan made those.” He was very impressed! ~W
