I’m waiting for the rain. The forecast says that’s all we should expect this week. Showers. Rain. Drizzle. Wet. Apparently, there are lots of ways to say precipitation, and our forecast is using all of them except snow. It makes a girl want to stay in bed!
However, I’m not complaining. I managed to drag my sorry self outside to walk this morning (thanks Kathleen!!) before the skies opened up and sent forth the deluge. And, in retrospect, I accomplished a lot for such a lazy weekend. Saturday and Sunday seem so far away, but while I was living them life seemed to move slowly. Slow motion weekend—I blame it on the sun.
Some how, (and credit where credit is due: thank you sunshine!) I managed to lazy my way through the weekend and still accomplish most of the items on my list without feeling rushed. I’m thinking that for the first time in a long time, the weekend felt like it had the right balance. Enough doing and enough being. It helps to write a short list. The sunshine didn’t hurt, either.
Speaking of doing. One of the things I accomplished this weekend was begging for an ad in an online craft bazaar. I don’t know why those emails are so hard to write, considering if I’m allowed to place the ad I still have to pay for it… you would think that would be easy, right? Anyhow, I should know soon if Thrifty Goodness made the cut. In the meantime, I also crafted a few new lavender pillows from vintage embroidered linen. These are a labor of love, as I don’t enjoy Lavender…Achoo!
But the weekend has passed and taken the glorious sun with it. Rain is expected any moment… and I can’t help but wonder what kind of week it will bring after my busy, lazy kind of weekend.
I love the kind of weekend where it seems so relaxed, and yet you accomplish so much…It’s been a while since I’ve had one of those myself…I just took a road trip and relaxed…I did vacuum and fold clothes (yay.) I think the nap was more important when all was said and done…

I know, I love those days. They are rare around here! ~W
Those pillows are lovely. I had a bittersweet weekend, full of sunshine and yet more problems with younger daughter. I didn’t imagine her senior year quite this way at all. My stomach is in a knot, and I feel like I’m getting high blood pressure and an ulcer. However, the weather was soothing, sort of.

Here’s my mantra for dealing with difficult children: Breathing in I calm my body–breathing out I scream my &^%*^& head off! Heh. It works. ~W
I like the way that you describe it: “enough doing and enough being” That is the balance that I strive for but do not always achieve.
You would love the weather we are having here right now: crisp, cool, sunny, and nary a cloud in sight.

Oh, sure, rub it in. S i g h. WINDSTORM here. It’s appalling. ~W
It’s Wed. morning and the rain is here in full force. I want to stay tucked into my cozy house instead of dodging raindrops to head to work. Wah! Just another couple of weeks…
Those vintage pillows of yours turned out beautiful. Hoping your lavendar sneezing fit is over!

Oh, thanks… and I’m with you. This weather is rotten. Did we get an Autumn? I don’t think so. ~W
The pillows are gorgeous (even if they are sneeze-inducing). I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you get to pay for that ad. 🙂

Oh, thanks! They make me sneeze and lavender gives me terrible headaches. Which is hard, because I include small sachets on all my vintage sales… So, I deal in bulk with the stuff. Achoo! ~W
These are so lovely, I can almost smell the lavendar from here… well at least I can imagine it! 🙂

Sadly, so can I! I don’t see what people see in Lavender. But, I’m weird. I’m thinking of doing a bunch of cedar sachets in December. THAT I can work with!! ~W
What lovely embroidery! And your weekend sounds lovely. I hope we can get together soon! ~A 🙂

Yes, yes! I hope next week. Weather permitting. ~W
Gesundheit! I enjoy MY lavender sachets-and think of you fondly each time I open my undies drawer. You DID know I was teasing, right? You had to- I said I wanted you to come for a sleepover and eat chocolate….
I think you should consider yourself fortunate that your child gives written notice. Mine just stumbled down the hall to my bedroom, barfing along the way.
We are having bizarre weather here- 80 degrees, very windy, cloudy and sunny and changing by the moment.

Oh, 80 degrees sounds heavenly. It’s windy and cold and gray and depressing here. S i g h. ~W
