Dilemma:
Option 1: Go to the store today when the crowds are still manageable but the sky is raining down ice.
Option 2: Go to the store tomorrow when the sun is out but the crowds have reached their mass and comparable anger management ceiling.
Option 3: Stay home in front of a fire and try to pass off strawberry jam as cranberry compote on Thursday.
Seriously, folks—this seems like a no-brainer to me.
i need cranberries. i have cranberries in my frig right now. they make wonderful cranberry and (macintosh) apple crepes in the morning. mmmm.

I would choose option 3 🙂

I tried, I really did. But IZ shanghaied me and MADE me go to Costco. Where he promptly bought a 3 lb bag of those little suckers and said, “You need these, right?” Evidently, he didn’t read my blog. 🙂 ~Wen
I like cranberry sauce…the nasty can ridged version that everybody makes fun of. I’m starting my shopping tomorrow at 8am. Hopefully those who aren’t at work are sleeping in and those who are at work, are.

I like that stuff too—but, I have my own recipe that I make every year that is a requirement, I guess. ~W
Nobody needs cranberries … if they’re lazy, unAmerican, and passive-aggressive. 😉
I grocery shop at 2am. It’s the perfect time. I’ve extensively tested this theory. Trust me.

I’m still laughing about this. Because that’s a pretty apt description of me! 🙂 ~W
I think choice number three is the most creative option. Mix things up a little! =)

See, me too! 🙂 ~W
An original Thanksgiving dish to create some wonderful memories. That’s how I would present it. I prefer strawberry jam anyway. But I love cranberry juice.

Exactly! Although, the temptation to pretend I don’t notice the difference is high! 🙂 ~Wen
I knew you’d do the right thing.. 🙂

That, sadly, sums up all that is wrong with me. Heh…~Wen
Three pounds of cranberries?
Wow.
Three pounds. That’s like, a pound for each of you.
Wow.
Well, I guess you all will maintain outstanding bladder health.

Well, in all fairness Tom, they will be feeding 9 people as I have a houseful coming for dinner. However, even so, we should be covered for cranberries for awhile. Good thing I’ve got a freezer, eh? 🙂 How do you feel about Cranberry muffins? 😀 ~Wen
Three pounds sounds like a lot of cranberries – but really – they are fresh and can be consumed in oh so many interesting ways. In fact – Food Network recently aired an Iron Chef USA episode where the secret ingredient was indeed cranberries. There are oh-so-many interesting things to do with them. Besides, they can be frozen… 🙂
Sorry about not reading your blog before taking you to Shanghai… however, I think our effort paid off… cranberries galore and no angry shoppers!

OMG, I forgot about that—no wonder you did this. And you are right, they boil down. However, one more Iron Chef reference out of you and I’ll ban you so fast you won’t see it coming 🙂 ~W
I would say this image about sums up that particular battle. If you are a Foodie, it will make you laugh…
Am I now banned?

Ok, not for that… because that’s funny!
Didn’t you have a cranberry issue last year? I got the strangest feeling of deja vu…
