On a completely different beach… My typical “it’s a verb but I’m going to use it as a noun” came back to bite me. On the bright side… someone noticed. The down side is, it was an accident this time. DARN. Oh well…
Back story: I sent out the usual list of class quotations at the end of the semester. All those silly little things said that when taken completely out of context make a Seminary Education look like fun. Note to you: It isn’t!
Anyhow, got an email back notifying me that I misused (abused) the verb “quote” using it as a noun. Actually, he pointed out that I had sent quotations instead of “quotes”… and that a “quote” is grammatical pointing. He is correct… but only partially… he would have been more correct if he had pointed out that what I did was “nominalization.” S i g h.
Ok.. that was VERY “J” of me… going to go back to being a “P”
